Research Snowboard 2027

Quick Specs

Rider Type All-Mountain Freeride Explorer
Terrain All Mountain
Shape Directional, 8mm taper
Flex 7 / 10

Product Description

Built for riders who want to explore every corner of the mountain, the Public Research pairs a directional shape with 8mm of taper for powder float and edge hold in one package. Its Poplar Light Core keeps the swing weight low while Carbon V Stringers and a tip-to-tail Carbon Stringer inject explosive snap through every turn. A sintered base rounds out a board made for the curious charger who never settles for one type of terrain.

Product Details

Rocker Type Mountain Alert Camber: a directional take on the Alert Camber profile, built around a majority camber section between the feet for edge hold, control, and pop. Tip and tail feature early rise, with the tip slightly more exaggerated for increased float in powder and easier entry into turns.
Flex 7 / 10
Shape Directional with 8mm of taper (tip wider than tail). Sidecut radius: 7.2 m (154) / 7.4 m (157) / 7.6 m (160 and 160W).
Core Poplar Light Core: premium FCS-certified poplar core with strategically placed paulownia wood to reduce weight while maintaining a snappy feel. Hardwood strips under the bindings reduce board breaks at the binding line and increase insert retention. Found only on the highest-end Public boards.
Laminates Carbon V Stringers: carbon fibers arranged in a V pattern at tip and tail for increased response from binding to contact point, delivering endless snap in and out of turns and an overall boost in pop Ā· Carbon Stringer: a 20mm wide carbon fiber stringer running tip to tail, increasing overall pop and response without stiffening torsional flex, keeping the board lively and nimble underfoot Ā· Biaxial Fiberglass: tip-to-tail biax fiberglass layup creates a consistent, smooth flex pattern while keeping the board nimble and predictable
Sidewalls Urethane Sidewalls: superior dampening compared to standard ABS and P-Tex sidewalls, more durable against impacts on rocks and rails to prevent delamination
Base Sintered Base: high-pressure sintered polyethylene for maximum wax absorption and superior abrasion resistance, faster and more durable than extruded constructions
